Curriculum Vitae

Born 1977, York, England. Based in York.

I trained as an illustrator at Glasgow School of Art (1996-1999) and the Royal College of Art (1999-2001). During my time at the Royal College of Art, my practice developed away from commercial illustration towards a more autonomous fine-art practice. I have continued to pursue an independent practice since leaving art college, focussing initially on figurative expressionism (2001-2004) and landscape painting (2004-2008). More recently, I have sought to develop a more varied practice with a particular interest in the relationship between mental landscapes and landscape/place.
